Funeral services for Margaret Ellen Roberts, 85, West Liberty, were held Sept. 19, 1997 at the First Church United in West Liberty, with the Rev. Frank Schultz officiating. Burial was in the Muscatine Memorial Park cemetery.

Mrs. Roberts died Sept. 16 at her home in West Liberty, following a brief illness.

The daughter of Frank Hans and Mary Ann Key Stalkfleet, she was born Dec. 26, 1911 in Ely, Minn. She married Edward Roberts on Feb. 4, 1935.

Mrs. Roberts is survived by a daughter, Patricia Roberts, West Liberty; 4 sons, Edward, Western Springs, Ill.; Tom, West Liberty; and Frank and Bernard, both of El Paso, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Clara Hinrichs, Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 10 brothers, 3 sisters and a grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Iowa City Hospice.
