Funeral services for Martha H. Taylor, 68, Muscatine, were held Sept. 6, 1997 at Zion Lutheran church in Muscatine, with the Rev. Paul Ostrem officiating. Pallbearers were Ivan and Fred Day, L.S. Steven Scherer, Kurt and Craig Boche, and Immanuel Hoppe. Burial was in the Greenwood cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor died Sept. 3 at the Wapello Care Center.
The daughter of Fritz J. and Babette D. Schoener Boche, she was born March 18, 1929 in Gocheim, Germany. She married Raymond G. Taylor on May 8, 1954 in Muscatine.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran church. She had worked at Wal-Mart. She loved needlework and playing bingo.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband; 3 sons, David A., Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Paul J., Belton, Mo.; and James R., Muscatine; 7 sisters, Gertrude (Mrs. Ivan) Day, Muscatine; Wilma (Mrs. Gerhardt) Morenings, Bristol, Va.; Dora (Mrs. Robert) Wilson, Sparta, Ill. Regina (Mrs. Kenneth) Day and Heidi Hoppe, both of Muscatine; Francis (Mrs. Gary) Yuhas, Geneseo, Ill.; and Christine (Mrs. Richard) Schoenig, Durant; and 5 brothers, George, Milwaukee, Wis.; Herman, Burington; and Kurt, Jurgen and Gary, all of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John; and 3 brothers in infancy.
Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran church or National Kidney Foundation.
