Sam Reaney received a telegram Tuesday announcing the death of Joe Mackey, which occurred the same morning, at Muscatine. Joe Mackey will be remembered as the former clerk at Reaney & Mackey's and a young man who was well liked by all his associates. He was compelled last spring to give up business and seek rest, in the hope that his failing health might be restored. but it was in vain, consumption had taken hold upon his system and slowly but surely did its work, ending in death as above stated.
