Funeral services for Edward Charles Baer, 91, Muscatine, were held July 15, 1997; at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, with burial in the Greenwood cemetery.

Mr. Baer died July 14 at Muscatine General hospital.

The son of Emil and Theresa Knoeppe Baer, he was born on May 29, 1906 in Wilton township, Muscatine county. He married Isabel Weikert on March 22, 1944 in Muscatine.

Mr. Baer farmed in the Durant area his entire adult life. Following his retirement he moved to Muscatine.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Janice Thomsen, Long Grove; and Judy Graves, Muscatine; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elnora Ericksen, Wilton. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in August 1986; 4 brothers and a grandson.
