Graveside services for Charles E. Hepker, 78, Muscatine, were held June 26, 1997 at the Muscatine Memorial Park cemetery, with the Rev. Carl Hillyer officiating. Pallbearers were Matt and Josh Hepker, Tony Newton, Mark Hillyer, and Scott and Steve Krueger. Honorary pallbearers were Roseanna Ysabel Hepker, Dawn Marie Hepker, Debbie Rockwell, Melissa Adams, Diann Jehle, Donna Mullink, Tracie Brade, Dustin Krueger, Michael Charles Hepker and Ernesto Thomas Hepker.

Mr. Hepker died June 23 at Muscatine General hospital.

The son of Thomas L. and Wecie A. Trimble Hepker, he was born June 22, 1919 in Muscatine. He was a life resident of the area. He married Wahneta "Bobbie" Franks on May 4, 1957 in Aledo, Ill.

Mr. Hepker was employed at Hawk Motors in Muscatine, retiring in 1984.

He is survived by his wife; 2 sons, Richard, Wilton and Thomas, Las Vegas, Nev.; a stepson, Earl Krueger, Letts; 2 stepdaughters, Rose Newton, Nichols and Doral Hillyer, West Caldwell, N.J.; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Passmore, West Liberty. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
