Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Phillips, 76, Atalissa, were held at West Liberty April 10 with burial in Overman cemetery, Atalissa. The Rev. Leo Widdel officiating.

Mrs. Phillips died at her farm home April 7, following a heart attack.

The daughter of Adolph and Emma Werth Gatzke, she was born in Atalissa Dec. 1, 1895. She was married to Carol M. Phillips in Iowa City Feb. 16, 1920. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran church.

She is survived by 2 sons, Dalton, West Liberty and Delbert, Atalissa; 3 daughters, Mrs. Audrey McMichael, Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Ruth Sterner, Davenport and Mrs. Donna Jehle, Durant; 2 brothers, Paul and Fred Gatzke, Atalissa; 2 sisters, Mrs. Theresa Passmore, Atalissa and Mrs. Marie Graert, LaGrange, Ill.; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
