Obituary
Craig F. Townsley, 83, formerly of rural Letts, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2022 at Colonial Estates in Columbus Junction. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services, Muscatine. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Cranston. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Community Room. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Muscatine County 4H in Craig’s name. Craig was born on October 9, 1938 in Columbus Junction, the son of Forrest E. and Ethel B. (Snyder) Townsley. He was a graduate of Letts High School and attended agriculture classes at Iowa State University. On June 19, 1960, Craig was united in marriage to Cheryl K. Chapman in Cranston. Craig worked for a few years at HON Industries, then eventually moved to the family farm and engaged in dairy farming for many years.

Craig was a member of the Letts Bible Church. He served for many years as a 4H leader. He was a very hard worker. He also enjoyed horseshoes, card games, hunting and playing with his grandchildren.

Craig is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his children, Keith (Mary) Townsley of DeWitt, Clint (Janell) Townsley of Letts and Heather (Rick) Beam of Huxley; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his brother, Noel (Emily) Townsley; sister, Suzanne Bolton; sister-in-law, Sandy Townsley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Terry.
