Funeral services for Paul Riessen, 64, of Durant, were held at Durant May 3 with the Rev. L. Jack Ehlers officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Riessen died at Mercy hospital in Davenport April 30.

Born Nov. 16, 1906 in Scott county, he was a son of Paul and Anna Riessen. He had resided in Durant the past 4 1/2 years.

Paul Riessen married the former Vera L. Otto in 1929 at Davenport. The couple had farmed in Muscatine county until retiring in 1966 and moved to Durant.

He was a member of the Muscatine county Farm Bureau; a director of S-M Service Company for 16 years; a director of the Stockton Co-op Elevator a number of years, a dealer in P-A-G seed corn company for 3 years.

Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Vernon and Darwin Reisen, both of rural Stockton; 5 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Reimers, Durant; Mrs. Keith (Deanna) Petersen, Sunbury; Mrs. Charles (Delores) Wuestenberg, Walcott; Mrs. Charles (Beverly) Clark, Davenport and Bonita Riessen at home; 2 brothers, Herbert Riessen, Rapid City, S.D., and Allen Riessen, Davenport; a sister, Mrs. Rhiene (Lenora) Voehl of Davenport; and 20 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
