Funeral services for Mrs. Fred (Marcella) Ridenour, 81, were held at the West Liberty United Methodist church Jan. 8 with the Rev. Lawrence Carlton officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery.

Pallbearers were Michael, Patrick, Frederick and Ronald Ridenour, Gerald Wilson and Harold Kline. Mrs. John Carey was organist.

Mrs. Ridenour died at the Extended Care center in Iowa City Jan. 6.

Born in the Union Valley community north of West Liberty Jan. 31, 1889, she was a daughter of Joel M. and Maria Gifford Walker. She was a life resident of the West Liberty community.

She was married to Fred D. Ridenour at the Walker home Nov. 30, 1909. She was a member of the United Methodist church, the Woman's Society of Christian Service and Mary circle, the order of Eastern Star, the Daughters of the American Revolution and a charter member of the Hartupee Social club.

Mr. and Mrs. Ridenour farmed until 1944 when they moved to West Liberty.

She is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Louise) Kline, West Liberty and Mrs. Ralph (Lela) Isabel, Atalissa; 2 sons, Harold and Forest, both of Atalissa; 2 sisters, Mrs. Charles (Loretta) McCann, West Liberty and Mrs. Benton (Wilma) Anderson, Clinton; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, 3 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
