MUSCATINE, Iowa - Forest 'Beany' Niles, 69, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 2 p.m. Location to be decided. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Joan. Online Condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com

Forest was born on January 9, 1952, in Iowa City, the son of Forest and Doris Johnson Niles. He married Joan Ridinger Wheeler on July 7, 1972, at Musserville United Methodist Church.

He was the superintendent of the Muscatine Highway Department for 30 years.

Forest enjoyed riding in his Honda Goldwing and liked Ford trucks. He loved his kids and grandkids and sharing 'Pampos Pop' with each one of them. His love for beans of all kinds is where he inherited the name Beany.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Niles of Muscatine; three children, Jacob Niles and wife, Heidi, Tiffany Niles-Anderson and significant other, Christopher Lawrence, and Amy Mae Niles, all of Muscatine; 12 grandchildren, Jacinda Pieper, and husband, Skylar, Kammi Anderson and significant other, Gavin Lippelgoes, Koltyn Niles, Raegyn Niles, Dillon Estabrook, Magnolia Lawrence, Dayton Niles, Jakob Niles, Aubri Villalpando, Darren Doak, Halli Villalpando, and Lyla Lawrence; three great grandchildren, Bennett Pieper, Remmington Estabrook, and Carsyn Heuer; and siblings, Donna Faulkner, Susan and Will Ward, Tom Niles, Jim and Debbie Niles, Pam and Allan Yeary, and Dan and Cindy Skipton.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack; sister, Patty; and brother-in-law, Fred Faulkner.
