Muscatine - Kenneth Nugent, 90, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at home, peacefully, surrounded by family.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Parr Cemetery, with military honors. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Ralph J. Kenneth was born on September 18, 1930, in Muscatine, the son of James R. and Velma Braun Nugent. He married Donna Gary on June 17, 1966, in Peoria, Illinois.

Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He started farming at 10 years old when his father broke his arm. Kenneth farmed the same farm his entire life. He enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, and hunting. Kenneth loved spending time with his sons, grandchildren, family, and friends.

He was a member of the American Legion - Post 711 in Blue Grass, Farmers Bureau of Muscatine where he served on the board, the Moose Lodge, the Cattleman Association, the Farmer Bowling League, Iowa Pork Producers, the Muscatine FFA advisory board, the Smokey Hollow Saddle Club, the Montpelier Volunteer Fire Department, the Izaak Walton League, and was a Montpelier Township trustee.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Donna of Muscatine; three sons, Kenneth E. Nugent Jr. of Muscatine, David D. Nugent and wife, Paula, of Iowa Falls, and Bryan T. Nugent of Muscatine; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Philip Gary Nugent in February 2020.
