Ellery Charles Plett, 70, a long-time resident of the Moscow area, died Thursday, July 15, in an automobile accident at Virden, Manitoba, Canada.

He was born Sept. 17, 1895, in Stockton, Iowa, the son of Charles and Mary Nugent.

Survivors include his wife; the former Hazel Washburn; one daughter, Lois Mingee, Davenport; 3 sons, Alvin and Paul, Muscatine, and Merle, Wilton Junction; a brother, Clarence, Davenport; and 13 grandchildren.

Plett, who was a farmer, was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ.
