John Doran departed this life at his home in Bloomington on March 18, 1901, la grippe being the cause of demise. The late Mr. Doran was born in Meath, Ireland, in December 1827, and consequently attained the age of 74 years. He had been in failing health since Dec. 8--He was united in marriage to Miss Kitty Braman and their wedding day they sailed for America, landing in New York on Christmas day of the year 1840. Here three children were born to them. In 1864 they came to Bloomington, where Mrs. Doran died in the year 1870. He was afterward married to Miss B. White and she preceded him to the beyond eight years since. He is survived by one child, Mrs. Lizzie Everett. He was buried in St. Mary's cemetery, the pall bearers being Messrs. P. Murphy, C. Fuller, James Welch, Geo. Arnold, C. Otto and F. Chayka.
