Muscatine Journal Thursday October 10, 1912
Word has been received by Muscatine relatives announcing that the remains of Mrs. Grant Shepard, of Columbus, O., and formerly of Muscatine, would arrive in Muscatine from Keswick, Ia., this evening. They will be taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. G.B. Samuels, 3161 Cedar street, where the funeral services over them will be held Friday afternoon at one o'clock, the Rev. A.H. Barker, of the Park Avenue Methodist Episcopal church to have charge. Following the services, the remains will be taken to the High Prairie cemetery where interment will take place.
The death of Mrs. Shepard was sudden and came as a distinct shock to her relatives. Its cause was acute appendicitis from which she suffered but a short time. Death occurred while she was on a visit at the home of her brother in Keswick, Ia. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.C. Rynearson, and made her home in this city up to about fifteen years ago. She was forty-four years of age, and besides leaving a husband and two children, Virginia and Earl, is also survived by two brothers, one, Edward Rynearson, residing in Park Place this city.
