Funeral services for Alvin E. Briggs, 78, Moscow were June 5 at the Griffith funeral home with the Rev. Homer Perry officiating. Interment was in Oakdale cemetery, Wilton Junction.

He was born Jan. 9, 1887 in Wayne county, Iowa, the son of Eddie and Laura Briggs. He formerly lived in Omaha, Neb., before moving to Moscow 22 years ago.

He married Maire Swanson Dec. 24, 1914, in Omaha, and spent his life farming. He died at his home June 3, of a heart attack.

His wife, Marie and a brother-in-law, Fred Swanson, survive at home; 3 brothers live in California, Earl, Floyd and Cecil, and one brother, Everett lives in Arkansas.

His parents and 2 sisters preceded him in death.
