Funeral services for William J. Schlueter, 80, will be held at the Lacock Funeral home, Durant, at 11 a.m. today (Jan. 15) with the Rev. L. Jack Ehlers officiating. Burial will be in the Durant cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time. A memorial has been established at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jeff Schlueter, James Bostine, Harold Wulf, Albert Waller, Roy Lammers and George Ibsen.

Mr. Schlueter died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, Jan. 12.

The son of William and Bertha Heik Schlueter he was born in Scott county Oct 8, 1905. He was married to Ella Brandt in Davenport June 6, 1931. The couple farmed until retiring in 1974. He was the organizer of the Crabapple Community building and served on that committee for 22 years. He had been a Fulton township 4-H leader for 10 years. He was a member of the Durant Senior Citizens.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Dale, Durant, a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Doreen) Jarck, Wilton and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
