Mrs. John G. Meerdink died at the Mercy hospital in Davenport Thursday morning, April 21, 1921. She had been ill about one month, finally succumbing to an attack of pleurisy. She was 27 years old.

Mrs. Meerdink, who was formerly Miss Mary Louise Connelly, was born in Muscatine on October 13, 1893, and resided there practically her entire life. She was married to John G. Meerdink of Muscatine, Oct. 13, 1918, moving to Davenport shortly after. One child, Mary Jane, was born to this union last month, who survives. She was a member of the St. Mathias church and attended the St. Mathias Parochial school.

Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Connell of Muscatine, five sisters--Mrs. Lawrence Dean of West Branch, Mrs. T. L. McGee of Davenport, Mrs. J. R. Collins of Bellevue, Mrs. E. R. Bloomer of Davenport and Miss Alice Connell of Muscatine; and two brothers--John W. Connell of Dubuque and Edward R. Connell of Muscatine.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Mathias church. Rev. F. J. Leonard officiated. Burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery in Muscatine.

Mrs. Dean desires the Sunshine Club and the many friends to accept the heartfelt thanks she feels for the beautiful floral offerings at the time of her sister's death.
