MERRIDITH, HALDEMAN, WIRTNER, TEMPLEMAN, COOPER

M. H. Merridith, 63, died at 12:15 o'clock Sunday morning in the University hospital, Iowa City, where he had been a patient since January 13th. Mr. Merridith had been in failing health since last fall and had been in the University hospital following an opertion, but had been home several weeks before returning there in January. The body was removed to the Duncan-Oathout Funeral home Sunday.

He was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Ann Haldeman Merridith, and was born April 6, 1869, Monmouth, Ill., where the Merridith family lived until moving to a farm in Muscatine county in 1880. His marriage to Miss Maude Wirtner of Solon took place January 30, 1907. Following their marriage they lived on a farm south of Downey for two years, then moved to West Liberty whre they have made their home since. Mr. Merridith was a member of the K of P. Lodge and a member of the Methodist church.

Besides Mrs. Merridith he is survived by three sons, Elmer, Des Moines; William and Robert at home; one daughter, Wilma Merridith of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Templeman, West Liberty; Mrs W. F. Cooper, Cedar Rapids; two brothers, William Merridith, West Branch; Harry Merridith, Bethel, Kansas.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Duncan-Oathout funeral home and burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery, West Liberty.
