The following news item is taken from The Muscatine Journal of Nov. 25, and will be of interest to many of the readers of the Times. The subject of this sketch was for many years a resident of West Branch and many of his old friends will extend sympathy to the bereaved children of the deceased.

"P. T. Smith for 25 years a resident of this city, is dead in New Comerston, Ohio.

During his residence in Muscatine Mr. Smith followed carpentering, and he resided on 8th street just east of Mulberry. Last April he decided to take up his residence in Ohio.

Mr. Smith's wife preceeded him in death. Besides the two sons, who live here he is survived by three daughters Mrs. Edgar Smith of New Comerston, Mrs. Charles Hoadley of Pittsburg and Mrs. F. W. Groshiem of New York.

The remains arrived here on Friday evening, accompanied by W. A. Smith, Mrs. Clara Smith and Mrs. Eleanor Hoadley. The funeral was held from the Greenwood chapel Saturday at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. J. N. Elliott having charge of the services. Interment took place at Greenwood cemetery. The pall bearers were: Paul Begey, Wm. J. Hickey, J. E. Howe, Charles Cunningham, S. M. Hughes and Edward Hughes.
