IN MEMORIAM

FRANK A. ADAMS

Funeral services over the remains of Frank A. Adams were held from the home of his birth at Adams., Ia., Saturday afternoon, April 3, at 2 o’clock. The services were conducted by the Rev. H. K. Schondalmayer of West Liberty. Many persons were in attendance and the floral offerings were many and beautiful. The hymn, “Nearer, My God to Thee,” was sung by the choir. These words were repeated by the deceased an hour before he passed away.
He leaves to mourn his death, his two children, one brother, Elias W. Adams; one sister, Mrs. Hester Ryan, and one half-brother, Chester Adams, all of Nichols. One sister, residing in Hermiosa, S. Dak., and a host of friends, also mourn his death.
The pallbearers at the funeral were Clyde, Louie and Frank Mills, Harry Smith, Charles Gierse and William Meyers.
Frank A. Adams was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Adams and was born at Adams, Ia., September 21, 1879. He was united in marriage to Miss Allie Wilhelmina Mills in 1889 (correct date is 1899). To this union three children were born – Erma Gladys, aged 20; William Elias, aged 17, and Earl Franklin, who passed away at the age of 3 years.
His first wife preceded him in death by several years. The home was maintained by the father and two children grew to manhood and womanhood. Both the children were graduated from the Nichols school and from the West Liberty high school.
In 1919, Mr. Adams was again united in marriage to Mrs. Clara O’Brien of Iowa City. She passed away March 31, 1920.
