SUMNER, IA: June Phyllis Barnard, 96, formerly of Fremont, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Hillcrest Home in Sumner Iowa.

She was born on November 26, 1918 in Muscatine Iowa; the only child of George and Bessie Dealing Holliday.

June is survived by her husband of 74 years, Robert, Sumner Iowa; two children, Thomas (Virginia) Barnard, Plano, TX, and Jane (Rev William) Runaas, Sumner Iowa; four grandchildren, Thomas (Christy) Barnard, Catherine (Brian) Lindstrom, Erik Runaas, and Jon (Margie) Runaas; as well as five great grandchildren, Aryn Barnard, and Jackson, Kaylee, Leanna and Ella Lindstrom

She was preceded in death by her parents; and grand daughter, Ellen Runnas.

Services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, Sumner Iowa on June 1 at 10:30 a.m. with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine Iowa, at a later date. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner is assisting the family.
