MRS. MAUDE AXTELL

Mrs. Maude Mae Axtell, 75, died at 11:27 a.m. Monday at Muscatine General Hospital.
She was born July 2, 1897, in Davis county, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas E. and Sarah Plowman Clevenger. She was a resident of Letts and a member of the United Brethern church of Letts.
She married Roy L. Axtell Nov. 9, 1916, at Letts.
Survivors include five sons, Cleo, of Muscatine, Thomas of Letts, Harold of Muscatine, Leo of Letts, and Raymond of Columbus city; and five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Shock, Mrs. Thelma Bailey, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Saultz and Mrs. Violet Coulter, all of Muscatine, and Mrs. Francis (Betty) O’Haver of Davenport; 43 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one sister and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Geo. M. Wittich Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Letts cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 7 o’clock tonight.
