Mrs. Polman, 42, Of Nichols Is Called in Death Nichols

Mrs. Sophia Marie Van Akan Polman, aged 42 years died at Bellevue hospital Muscatine at 4 a. m. today. She had been a patient there for three weeks and had been in failing health for four years.
The daughter of Anthony and Marie Jansen Van Aken she was born in Holland, April 24, 1901 coming to this country with her parents in 1911. She was married to Albert Polman in 1924 and spent most of her life here. She was a member of St. Mary's church at Nichols.
Surviving are her husband, her mother, seven children, Dorothea, Louisa, Albert, Leroy, Kathleen, Bobby and Shirley, all at home; a brother, Leo Van Akan of Nichols; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Kaalberg of Lone Tree and Mrs. Mary Kaalberg of Wilton and the following half-brothers and half-sisters, Jack Jensen of West Branch; Harry Jensen of Davenport; Theodore Jensen of Lone Tree; Alphonse Jensen of Nichols; Mrs. Agnes Schroeder, Mrs. Josephine Polman of Davenport and Mrs. Cecelia Bacchus of Nichols.
Her father and two children preceded her in death.
The body is at the Kirchner Funeral home, but will be taken to the home of her mother this evening. Rites will be held at 9 a. m. Friday at St. Mary's church here with burial in the Nichols cemetery.

Note: Should be Van Aken, and the Jensen names should be Jansen

Rites Are Noted For Mrs. Polman

Nichols – Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Marie Polman were held Friday morning at 9:00 at the St. Mary’s church with Rev. H. M. Staunton officiating.
Pallbearers were Theodore Bensen, George smith, William Pike, George Metcalf. Flower attendants were Mrs. Frank Kaalberg and Mrs. Lawrence Salemink. Burial was made in the Nichols cemetery.
NOTE: Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nichols. Should be Theodore Jansen
