Mrs. Van Zyle Goes In death; Service Friday

Mrs. Dorothy R. Van Zyle, resident of Muscatine for the past 19 years, died at Bellevue hospital at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday after an extended illness. Her home was at 317 West Fourth street.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Chaffee, she was born at Herreid, S. D. on Dec. 18, 1904, and resided there and at St. Paul, Minn., before coming to Muscatine.
Her marriage to Walter E. Van Zyle of Muscatine occurred Dec. 21, 1927, At Cambridge, Ill. She was a member of the First Baptist church.
Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Patricia Jean and Gloria Dean Van Zyle, both at home; her mother, Mrs. Emily Chaffee of Tucson, Ariz., and one brother, Homer Chaffee, of Tucson. Her father preceded her in death.
The body is at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals and services will be held at the chapel there at 2:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Paul de Meurers, pastor of the First Baptist church, will be in charge. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
