Thomas J. Lanfier.

Thomas J. Lanfier, 71, died of dropsy of the heart at the Hershey hospital at 9:10 this morning. He had been ill since December.
Mr. Lanfier was born in Henry county, Ill., March 23, 1855, and came to Iowa in 1869, moving to Louisa county. He came to this city 33 years ago. residing here until his death. He married Miss Mary Rose at Wapello in 1881. He was employed at the Roach & Musser factory until six years ago, when he retired.
He is survived by the widow and eight children, John of Moscow, William of Sweetland, Ollie, Archie, Harry, Mrs. L. A. Maxwell, Mrs. Mary Schmelzer and Mrs. Myrtle Brown, of Muscatine; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Phillips of Montpelier and one brother, Peter Lanfier, of Jacksonville, Miss.
Funeral services will be held from the Meyers Funeral Home at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery. The body will remain at the Meyers Funeral Home.
