Muscatine, Iowa – Services for Genevieve State, 88, of Muscatine, will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mathias Catholic Church. Muscatine. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Muscatine. Visistation is 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine.

Mrs. State died Thursday, March 4, 1999 at her home. She was employed on the nursing staff at Benjamin Hershey Memorial Hospital.

Genevieve O’Brien was born Oct. 11, 1910, in 76 Township, Muscatine. She married Earl State in 1935 in Muscatine. He died in 1983. Survivors include daughters Colleen Augustine, Peoria., Ill., and Ann Wieskamp, Nichols; sons Thomas E. Estacada, Ore., and Martin A., St. Louis; 12 grandchildren, six great children, and a sister Mary Morrison, Poplar Bluff, Mo.
