Philander Philip Goodrich
September 24, 1874 --- abt. August 9, 1907

The remains of Phil Goodrich arrived here from Enid, Okla., Saturday evening and the funeral was held from the house of his parents Sunday afternoon, services conducted by Rev. Wm. Martin. The deceased was a young man of about 33 years of age and leaves a wife and three children to mourn his untimely end. Mrs. Goodrich was formerly Miss Ethel Cook of this city, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Cook who formerly resided here. The bereaved wife and children accompanied the remains to this place. Phil's death was due to an unusual cause. It was not inflammation of the bowels as first reported, but by blood poisoning. He had a small boil on his forehead and was at work doing some fancy plastering. In the lime had been mixed a quantity of red analine and it is thought that his blood became infected with this through the boil on his forehead. Every thing possible was done by the physicians to save his life, but all efforts proved futile. Phil was a good-hearted young man who made and retained a large circle of friends. The sympathy of all is extended the bereaved ones.
