Beulah Wainwright, age 96, of Red Oak, Iowa, formerly of Clarinda, Iowa died Friday, February 20, 2004, at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa. Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2004, at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa, with Rev. Walden Paige officiating. Visitation with the family was Monday evening 7-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial was in the Memory Cemetery. A memorial will be established. Walker-Merrick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Beulah Beatrice Wamsley was born September 11, 1907, to Hal and Florence (Foster) Wamsley in Page County in East River Township. She lived there all of her life, except for two years when her folks moved to Taylor County east of New Market. Beulah attended Pace Grade School in East River Township and attended and graduated from New Market High School in 1926. She graduated from Clarinda Junior College in 1928 where she met her future husband, Arthur John Wainwright, son of Edgar and Blanche Wainwright of Bedford, Iowa. Beulah attended the New Market Methodist Church, was baptized and attended faithfully. She was Sunday School pianist for several years. Beulah married Arthur on December 12, 1929. They both attended the Methodist Church and he was Sunday School Superintendent for several years. They transferred their membership to Clarinda Methodist Church. Beulah loved to sew, crochet and embroider and made many afghans. She loved all her family and loved to be with them. Beulah was very loved and will be missed by all.
Preceding Beulah in death were her parents and parents-in-law; husband, Arthur; two infant daughters, Esther and Joyce Eileen; sister-in-law, Virginia Rope; brothers-in-law, Edgar Wainwright, Jr., and Herbert Rope; great granddaughter, Jacinta Zenor. She leaves to mourn two daughters: Erma Lee Zenor and her husband Bill of Red Oak, Iowa and Janice Kitting of Clarinda, Iowa, six grandchildren: Dennis Zenor and wife, Janet of Red Oak, Iowa, Randall Zenor and wife, Rene’ of Stanton, Iowa, Craig Zenor and wife, Terri of Underwood, Iowa, Scott Zenor and wife, Becky, Glenwood, Iowa, Russell Judson and wife Teresa of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Deborah Ross of Omaha, Nebraska and eighteen great grandchildren: Anthony, William, Kyle and Tristin Zenor of Denison, Iowa, Ashley and Adam Zenor of Red Oak, Iowa, Ryan and Rachelle Zenor of Stanton, Iowa, Jeremy and Kelsey Zenor of Underwood, Iowa, Zachary and Jacob Zenor of Glenwood, Iowa, Julia, Alicia, Matthew and Victoria Judson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Charlotte and James Ross of Avoca, Iowa, sister-in-law, Mary Helen Wainwright of Bedford, Iowa, many nieces and nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
