I'm trying to locate info for Shiffer/ Enarson /Mortz for Villisca and (what is now) Viking Lake. Edward Charles Shiffer (born Charles Edward) b. 26 AUG 1873 Clarence, Cedar IA lived in Villisca (twice). Son, James Harold Shiffer b. 4 JUL 1902 Nodaway, Adams, IA married Geneva Grace Enarson b. 9 AUG 1902 ?Villisca?.
Geneva's mother Jenny Noble-Douglas>grandmother Ann Elizabeth Mortz> g grandfather Peter Mortz. Geneva's father Henry Enarson > grandfather Lars Enarson. Peter Mortz 1822-1889 and Lars Enarson 1831-1915,lived across the creek from each other where Viking Lake's dam is now. 1880 Jackson, Montgomery, IA Census shows surname spelled Enerson. I would be grateful for any information or clues that might be available.
