From Red Oak, IA newspaper–date and title unknown.
"On Thanksgiving day at 4:30 in the afternoon, Mrs. W. H. Kerrihard died at the home of her daughter in Plattsmouth, Neb. She was out there on a visit and had caught cold which terminated in her death. She was brought home for burial. Her funeral took place last Sunday at 2 o'clock. The services, conducted by Rev. A. B. Buckner, were at the home of her son, H. C. Kerrihard. There was a large number of neighbors and friends present. The choir sang first "Nearer my God to Thee." After prayer by the pastor there was another song, "Rock of Ages." Then came the sermon. The text was "Let me die the death of the righteous: let my last end be like his." The deceased was born Feb. 23, 1818, in Union county Pennsylvania. Her maiden name was Susan Fitzgerald. In 1842 she was married to W. H. Kerrihard. In 1854 they moved to Davenport, Iowa, where they resided until 1860 when they came to Red Oak, which has since been the home of the family. The husband of the deceased died in January, 1881. She leaves six children, three sons and three daughters, all of whom were at the funeral excepting a daughter at Boone, Iowa. She was one of the first to join the M.E. church at this place and has been a faithful worker in church matters all through her life."
