Red Oak Express, Jun 10, 1968: "Funeral services for Mrs. Clifford M. Unger, 79, 1209 Corning St., were held this morning at Nelson Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. W. Phil Gruenke officiated at the services.
Mrs. Unger, a Red Oak resident since 1926, died Friday, June 7, at Martens Manor, Griswold, after an extended illness. Ruby Florence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paris L. Hayzlett, was born March 6, 1889, at La Porte City and was married in 1909 to Clifford M. Unger, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara, at home, and Mrs. Randolph Stevens, New Braunfels, Tex.; son Richard, Ames; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Unger was a member of First Congregational Church and the family has suggested memorials for the church."
