MRS. ALMIRA A. WATTS

Mrs. Almira A. Watts, a resident of Villisca for the last twenty years died at her home here Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 o’clock, her death resulting from paralysis and old age.

Almira A. Stonaker was born September 9, 1844 at Winchester, West Virginia, and was the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Stonaker. She was married to Thomas Norwood Watts on October 10, 1865, at Greenfield, Ohio, and to this union five children were born, one of whom died in childhood. Those living are Miss Georgia Watts and Mrs. Lizzie Means of Villisca, Mrs. S. J. Means and Herbert Watts of Nodaway. She lives also one brother, S. B. Stonaker of Springfield, Ohio, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Watts went with her parents from West Virginia to Ohio in her early childhood, and in 1884 she came to Iowa, settling on a farm near Nodaway. She and her family came to Villisca to make their home in 1900 and she resided here continuously since that time until her death.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and of the W.R.C. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Wm. McClelland of Emerson in charge of the service. Burial will be in the Villisca Cemetery.
