HIS LAST LETTER HOME.

Sun readers already know about Sergeant Clem Hobbs, of Co. M, l68th infantry, being killed in action in France on May 15. Just three days before his death he wrote a cheering letter to his mother, Mrs. A. M. Hobbs, telling her not to worry about him, as he was well and happy. Following is the letter, which is probably the last one he wrote before his death:
Somewhere in France,
May 12, 1918
“Dear Little Mother:
“This is just to let. you know that I am still very much able to be about and that I am thinking of you always, but more today because this is “Mothers’ Day, and I am very sure
that no one in the "A.E.F. has a sweeter, more patient and altogether such a grand little mother as I have.

I sure hope you are feeling very much better than you were during the winter. Now, mother, in your letter to me, (the last one) you said I was not to worry about you. Well, I will make you a proposition, which is this — you stop worrying about me, and I will do the same about you. What do you say to that? My land, if you could see me now you would laugh and then wonder what ever made you worry about me. Why, 1 never felt better, and been so far away from home before, so hoping you again that you are in the best of condition for that said two-step when I cone home.
I am as ever, your loving son,
SERGT. CLEM HOBBS.
P.S.—“Love and regards to the kids."
