Looking for information on Christopher Nickel a Civil War soldier who enlisted from Troy Township Monroe County Iowa. He died 17th April 1864 and is buried at Little Rock National Cemetery. He was part of the 36th Regiment Iowa Infantry Company K. He was born in 1834 in Germany, lived in southern Indiana in Floyd county in the 1850 census with the Miller Family. In the 1860 Census I cannot find him or the Miller family in the 1860 Federal Census in Indiana or Iowa and then he is deceased and a casualty of the Civil War. He is my 2nd great Uncle.
