DIANNA LYNN MYERS

Dianna "Lynn" Myers, age 61, of Albia, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Lynn was born on January 3, 1958, in Albia, IA to Charles Richard "Dick" and Lois Maxine (Survis) Myers. She married Tony Sebben on February 14, 1976, and to this union 2 children were born, Jim and Amy. Lynn and Tony later divorced and she married Rich Van Wardhuizen in January 2000. Lynn grew up and attended school in Albia, graduating with the Class of 1976. In her younger years she worked as a waitress. She then went to work at Chamberlains in Albia before working at Monroe Plastics and lastly as a secretary for the Department of Human Services. Lynn enjoyed being outdoors, flower gardening, fishing and riding motorcycles. She was a very kind hearted and generous person, always putting others before herself and willing to help anyone in need. Lynn's true joy was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Lynn is survived by 2 children, Jimmy Sebben and Amy (Greg Griffith) Sebben, both of Lovilia, IA; 5 grandchildren, Tre, Abel, Bralynn, Bryson, and Kruze; a brother, Tom (Lisa) Myers of Avery, IA; 2 sisters, Martha Dicks of Phoenix, AZ and Stephanie (Bob) Law of Silver Creek, GA; and her nieces and nephews, Joey, Jeremy, Nikky, James and Mike. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Lois Myers and her grandparents, George and Lelah Briggs and Earl and Nora Myers. She is also preceded in death by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia with Lynn's family present to meet and greet family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia with Elder Lois Behrens officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. An open memorial has been established to the family.
