OBITUARY
Comer
 
Death again was brought to our midst when a large concourse of relatives and friends gathered at the depot in Albia to receive the mortal remains of Thomas Comer who passed away at Chicago April 22, 1930.
 
Thomas E. Comer, son  of Bridget and Thos. Comer, was born June 18*, 1863 at Georgetown, Iowa, his parents being pioneer settlers of Monroe County. April 4, 1893, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth A. Brothers at Georgetown, Iowa, living in that vicinity for many years. To this union five children were born. In October 19__* the family moved to Chicago with the exception of their daughter Catherine who still resided at Georgetown.
 
Mr. Comer has been in failing health the past two years and although his sufferings were great at death he bore these with the Christian patience.
 
The funeral was held at St. Patrick's church, Georgetown April __*. Requiem High Mass was celebrated by the Rev. J. J. Murphy who delivered the funeral sermon speaking words of comfort to the family. The pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Andrew Luttrell, James Comer, ____ *Brothers, ____ _____* , John Brothers and James ________*.
 
The remains were gently borne to the cemetery nearby and laid beside his daughter Teresa who preceded him to the place where the evening sun will cast his last golden rays and where angels will sing until time is no more.
 
He leaves his wife to mourn his death; Will and Mary at home, Catherine Mahoney of Georgetown; one sister, Mrs. Jas. McCarty; two brothers, John and Joseph, also of Georgetown.
