COUNTY CORRESPONDENCE
Melrose

Sorrow was cast over the community by the death of Jerry McGrath Friday, September 7 at 11:00 o'clock at his late home in Tyrone. He had been in poor health for some months while everything that loving hands and medical skill could do to prolong life was done. He bore his long sufferings with remarkable fortitude and with a heavenly light on his kind and noble face passed peacefully away when the final summons came, after bidding the devoted wife and sons good-bye and telling them to not take his death too hard. He was a man of large heart and broad mind, strictly honorable in all his dealings, he leaves behind him the memory of a noble career - the richest heritage - to his family. At the time of his demise he had reached the age of seventy-two, and leaves surviving him a wife, three sons. - Record.
