Sally Ann Simpson, 89, of Castana, Iowa passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa.

A Graveside Service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Kennebec Cemetery, Castana, Iowa with Darren C. E. Goslar, officiating. A recording of the service will be available on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Sally’s obituary. Those attending the service, are welcome to gather at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 4, 2022 to process over to the cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Sally Ann was born February 1, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard “Mike” M. and Marie E. (Madden) Mustard. She graduated in 1951 from West Monona in Onawa, Iowa.

Sally and Eugene R. Simpson were married. The couple later separated. Sally was a housewife and mother to her two girls, Suzanne and Judy.

Sally loved attending auctions and collecting antiques. She knew everything and anything about what antique she was buying. Sally loved sparkles and clothing. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going to Arizona with them, and wherever she went she would find a bargain. Sally was looking forward to a great- grandchild arriving soon. Sally loved her cat and dog companions, “Frankie” and “Johnny”.

Sally was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Garden Club.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Suzanne Simpson of La Jolla, California, and Judy and her husband, Ivan Simpson of Castana and Spirit Lake, Iowa; grandchildren, Michele Simpson of Colorado, Dr. Lindsey Woodburn of California, Sarah and her husband, Brent Brekke of Des Moines, Iowa, and Adam and his wife, Tasha Simpson of Spirit Lake, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Landon Brekke, Lucas, Lane, and Kaylee Simpson; and her pets, Frankie and Johnny.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard “Mike” M. and Marie E. (Madden) Mustard; her long-time companion, Sam Mann; and two brothers, Pat (Mary) Mustard, and Paul Mustard.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sally’s memory, may be sent to the Siouxland Humane Society.
