Wesley “Wes” Clark Miller, 81, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.

A funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Jessie Lent, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Wes’ obituary. Burial will follow in the Harrison Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa with Masonic Rites led by: Steve Jewett, orator. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and Emery Johnson American Legion Post #481 of Whiting, Iowa. A visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the chapel, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Wesley Clark was born January 23, 1941 in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Howard Wilson and Edna Lucille (Boulden) Miller. Wes grew up in Whiting and graduated from Whiting Community School in 1959. He enjoyed playing football during high school. Wes served in the United States Army from October 9, 1963 until his honorable discharge, October 8, 1965. Wes continued his education at Iowa State in the Agriculture Department for one year.

Wes and Vicki Elsbury were married October 1, 1967 in Onawa, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Traci and Trevor. The couple later divorced.

Wes worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He enjoyed farming, construction, and attending tractor shows. Wes loved to play cards, golf, and drink coffee with the guys. He enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his family.

Wes was a member of the First Congregational Church, U.C.C., Whiting, Iowa. He was a member and past master of the Weston Masonic Lodge #562 AF & AM in Whiting. Wes was also a member and past commander of the Emery Johnson American Legion Post #481 of Whiting.

Survivors include his children, Traci (Tim) Cass of Ute, Iowa, and Trevor (Tracey) Miller of Onawa, Iowa; grandchildren, Tim (Sara) Cass of Castana, Iowa, Tiffanie (Josh) Gossard of Lincoln, Nebraska, Tawnie Cass of Ute, Iowa, Gracey Lucas of Onawa, Iowa, Savannah Lucas of Onawa, Iowa, Kaylee Miller of Onawa, Iowa, and Ivee Miller of Onawa, Iowa; great-grandson, Hayden Gossard; sister, Elaine Mausbach of Omaha, Nebraska; nieces, Shari (Randy) Dunklau of Wayne, Nebraska, Michelle (Mark) Powell of Ashland, Nebraska, and Colleen Hug of Omaha, Nebraska; and several other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Edna (Boulden) Miller; brother-in-law, William “Bill” Mausbach; and niece, Laura Jean Dyer.
