Former Whiting Man Accidentally Killed

Fred C. Morley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis A. Morley, was born near Whiting, Iowa, December 23rd 1874 and died at his home at Carlton, Oregon January 31, 1931.

He lived in Whiting and vicinity until 1900 when he went to Idaho Falls, Idaho, going from there a year later to Milton, Oregon.

In 1902 he was married to Miss Ella Shaw. To this union were born three children, Howard, Wilbur and Violet all of whom are living.

In 1920 he moved to Carlton, Oregon where he has been engaged in farming and also in the lumber business having about 435 acres of which 300 acres in large trees.

After helping saw down a large tree, the fall parred a loose limb from another tree which fell on him, killing him almost instantly.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, three children, one grandchild, 2 brothers, Howard of Onawa, John of Hampton, Iowa and his sister, Mrs. Nora Mahood of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at Carlton and interment was in the Carlton Cemetery.
