Betty Lou Beauchene, 87, of Whiting, formerly of Sloan, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Community of Christ Church in Sloan. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Betty, the daughter of Carl and Regina (Hogh) Mogensen Sr., was born on Feb. 26, 1931. She graduated from Sloan High School.

Betty Lou Mogensen married Lawrence Beauchene on Jan. 11, 1951 in Salix, Iowa. She spent several years in Aberdeen, S.D., Denver, Colo., and Sioux City, but lived most of her life in Salix and Sloan. Betty worked at the concession stand with her husband and two sons. She was a full-time homemaker and mother. She was a proud wife, devoted to her husband, Lawrence, for 67 years.

Betty enjoyed playing cards, bowling, camping and fishing trips, baking, and Yahtzee.

Betty is survived by one son, Randy (Inga) Beauchene; five grandchildren, Blake (Brenda), Lindsey (Rob), Casey (Billy), Lance (Jen), and Katie; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; son, Richard; three brothers, Carl Jr., Elmer, and Billy; and three sisters, Alice, Ellen, and Karen.
