Joyce Ladean O’Daniel, 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home in Riverside, Calif., on Saturday, Oct. 20, after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer.

Joyce was born July 10, 1936, in the home of her parents, Roy and Adeline (Christiansen) Namanny, near rural Charter Oak. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1954.

Joyce married Robert O’Daniel on June 3, 1959, in Chicago, Ill. They lived in California most of their married life.

Robert passed away in 2000.

Left to cherish Joyce’s memories are her siblings, Bonnie (Bob) Banks and Dennis (Melinda) Namanny of Mapleton; Allan (Karen) Namanny of Folsom, Calif., Becky Young of Apple Valley, Calif., Patty (Al) Smith of San Diego, Calif.; two aunts; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Joyce was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a late date.
