Former Ute Resident Died At Woodbine

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gries and daughters, Leone Gries and Mrs. Dale Downing, went to Woodbine last Thursday to attend funeral services for Mrs. J.W. Barnhart, Mr. Gries’ sister.

Mrs. Nellie Mae Barnhart was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Gries and lived in this vicinity before moving to Woodbine. She passed away at her home there Tuesday, November 29, following about a year’s illness with cancer. She was 57 years old in August. Funeral services were held at the funeral parlor at Woodbine Thursday afternoon and burial was in the Dunlap Cemetery.

Mrs. Barnhart is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Moores of Woodbine and Mrs. Arbie Russell of Missouri Valley; six grandchildren; also, four brothers, Henry Gries of Ute, John Gries of Grant Center, Lester Gries of Sioux City and Archie Gries of Wilder, Idaho.
