James Robinson Harker, son of John and Eden Harker, was born October 14, 1860, at Argyle, Wisconsin. He grew to manhood in that vicinity and resided there until 1886 when he came to Monona County.

Mr. Harker passed away at his home in Mapleton Christmas eve following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday morning, December 27. Burial was in St. Clair Cemetery at Ute.

Mr. Harker was married to Miss Catherine Ebzery January 7, 1891 at Ute.

He was in the real estate and land business for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Harker made their home in Mapleton since 1915.

He is survived by his wife and four daughters, Miss Vella Harker of Mapleton, Mrs. Merle Clemmensen of Little Rock, Arkansas, Mrs. Cecyle Underhill of Onawa and Mrs. Arline Abild of Oceanside, California. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kathleen Abild and James Underhill.
