Inez Marie McNutt, daughter of William Michail and Ellen (Hall) Shoop was born on June 12, 1908 at Ida Grove, Iowa. As a young girl she came to Castana with her parents.

She was married to Athol McNutt on September 14, 1926 at Onawa, Iowa. Two daughters were born to this union. They farmed around the Castana area and was presently farming 6 miles southeast of Castana. Mrs. McNutt was a member of the Mapleton women’s Civic Club.

Mrs. McNutt died on Sunday, December 21, 1975 at her home after an apparent heart attack, having reached the age of 67 years, 6 months and 9 days.

Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Mrs. B.J. (Phyllis) Graham of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Mrs. Morton (Joyce) Freeman of Whiting, Iowa, four grandchildren and two brothers, Albert of Toledo, Iowa and Ralph of Tacoma, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 grandson.

Mrs. McNutt was buried in the Kennebec Cemetery at Castana, Iowa December 23, 1975.

Pallbearers were Elvin Hanson, Fred Anderson, Sam Hall, Harold Longlee, Clifford Longlee and Carl Longlee.
