Joseph Ullrich Buried Monday
Funeral Services Held In St. Mary's Church for Real Iowa Pioneer

Funeral services for Joseph Ullrich, 77-year-old resident of Mapleton, who passed away at his home Friday evening following a lingering illness, were held Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock in St. Mary's cemetery under the direction of the Byers Funeral home.

John Stodden, L. A. Reinbold, William BabI, W. L. Beatty, Clem Babbe and Paul Rosberg of Rickets served as pallbearers.

Mr. Ullrich, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ullrich, was born November 22, 1858, in Clinton, la. He grew to young manhood there and moved with his parents at the age of 18 to Crawford county, locating at Charter Oak.

He was married to Miss Ann a Holdgrafer April 11, 1893, at Charter Oak. They farmed for many years in that vicinity and in 1920 came to Mapleton which had since been their home. He was a member of St. Mary's church.

Mr. Ullrich's condition had been serious during the last five weeks when he had been bedfast.

He is survived by his widow and seven children, Mrs. Hermena Nelson of Charter Oak, Mrs. Stella Miller of Clinton, Mrs. Loretta Streck of Mapleton, Mrs. Selma Scott of Clinton, Edward Ullrich of Moline, Ill., Joe Ullrich of Moline, Ill., and Georg e Ullrich of Charter Oak. Two children preceded him in death.

He also is survived by three sons by a former marriage, Henry and John Ullrich of Clinton and Frank Ullrich of Lone Tree, la. Another son by this marriage preceded him in death.

One sister, Mrs. E. A. Topf of Le Mars, three brothers, N. J. Ullrich of Mapleton and Clem Ullrich of Medella, Minn., and 19 grandchildren also survive.
