Monona County Gazette 29Mar1900 Local News Mrs. Ransom, the aged mother of Henry J. Herrington, who has been ill at the home of her son in Onawa for the past five or six weeks, died Monday evening at 6:30 and was buried Wednesday afternoon from the Christian church. Mrs. Phoebe Ransom was born in Niagara county, NY, 3Apr1822. Her age being 70 years, 11 months, 23 days. She became a member of the Christian church in the state of Wisconsin in early life and remained a member ever since. She was the mother of eight children; seven sons and one daughter. The funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.E. Denton.
