Hold services for former resident of Mapleton

Robert C Prunty Jr, age 80, of Rochelle, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at Franklin Grove Health Center.

Funeral services were held at St Paul Lutheran Church, Rochelle, IL., on Monday, November 15, 2004 at 11:00 a. m. with Rev Mark Nordman officiating, with a visitation from 9:30 a. m. prior to the funeral service at the church.

Funeral services were also held on Friday, November 19, 2004 at 11:00 a. m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home, 403 4th St., Sioux Rapids, Iowa with a visitation from 9: 00 to 11: 00 a. m. prior to the service.

Burial was at Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St Paul Lutheran Church, Rochelle, Illinois or Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids, Iowa.

Robert was born on February 2, 1924 in Mapleton, Iowa, the son of Robert Charles and Elizabeth (Pendergraft) Prunty. He married LaVera Ruhs on September 1, 1946 in Schaller, Iowa. He had previously owned and operated Courtesy Motors in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Bob was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle and was a WWII Veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps.

Survivors include his wife LaVera of Rochelle, IL., two sons Lee (Jane) Prunty of Rochelle, IL. and Lynn (Deb Patten) Prunty of Sioux Rapids, IA, two daughters Randi (John) Vilks of Omaha, NE. and Lori (Richard) Patterson of Rochelle, IL., grandchildren Paul (Nancy Myers) Prunty of Cypress, CA., Dejaka, Linley and Mariah Davidson of Rochelle, IL., Daniel, Casey, John (Kelly) Patterson, Chad (Shandra), Sherri and Donny; and great-grandchildren Gabriel and Shane Prunty of Cypress, CA., Alexander and Xavier Wade, and Katie Patterson of Ashton, IL.

Bob was one of nine children and is also survived by seven siblings Loise Addison of Fresno, CA., Betty Koepenick of Folsom, CA., Mary Beth (Les) Marousek of Atlantic, IA, Shirley (John) Stell of Berthoud, CO, Ruth (Frank) Rausch of Folsom, CA, Jack (Judy) Prunty of Lorimor, IA, Kay (Don) Mayes of Pueblo, CA, and Rex (Linda ) Prunty of Swisher, IA, and brother-in-law John Fiebig of Tracy, CA.

Bob was preceded by his parents and a sister Virginia Fiebig.
