Vernon and Edna Angove, p 95

Vernon John Angove was born on Sept. 25, 1925 at Hinton, Iowa, the son of William and Grace Jones Angove. He married Edna K. Amundson on Oct. 18, 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Darrel and Alice Wagner Amundson. She was born on Dec. 15, 1932 at Soldier, Iowa. Vern farmed in the Hinton area with his father until 1954 when they moved to Sgt. Bluffs, Iowa. They came to Monona County in 1959 and farmed in the area since that time. Vern was active in the Boy Scouts program for 5 years serving as Cub Master of the Soldier Pack. Edna has cared for numerous elderly people, member of Jordan Birthday Club and also worked with the Jordan 4-H Sunshine Club. They are both active in the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in Onawa. Vern a deacon, and has served on the building committee. Edna and Vern are youth leaders and she is cradle roll chairman and also a co-ordinator for friends of Graceland College at Lamoni. Their interest in good saddle horses is quite evident by the ribbons and trophies in their family.

Children: Vicki Ann – March 1, 1960 – married Arlen Cordell Thoreson of Soldier. They are the parents of two children: Adam Cordell – 1977, Nathan Allen – 1981, Charles Dwayne – March 27, 1975 – employed by Security National Bank as a bookkeeper.
