John J. Wood, for about fifteen years a resident of St. Ansgar, died at his home in Minneapolis last Wednesday, after an illness of seven months. He was born July 30, 1850, in Waukesha county, Wisconsin.

Mr. Wood removed from this place about four years ago, first settling near Jackson, Minnesota, but after a short residence there removed to Minneapolis. The deceased has many friends in this place who will be pained to learn of his death. Mr. Wood was converted and joined the M.E. Church many years ago, of which he was a devoted and earnest member.

He leaves a wife, and one child to mourn his loss, aside from his circle of more distant relatives.
